Meet Our Instructors

Jason Renfro

Pat McCabe

Jason is one of our instructors, supporting our Intermediate Fly Casting Courses and working with anglers ready to refine their technique. As the founder of Renfro Fly Fishing, he has worked with hundreds of local anglers across Northern California, helping them build confidence and skill on the water.

His instruction focuses on improving accuracy, distance, and line control through thoughtful, hands-on guidance. With strong technical expertise and real-world application, Jason helps anglers develop a more efficient, consistent cast.

Pat McCabe has spent decades honing his craft on some of the most storied waters in the country. His foundation was built in the 1980s and 1990s at Creative Sports in Walnut Creek, where he worked alongside and was mentored by legendary fly angler Andre (Andy) Puyans, one of the most influential figures in American fly fishing. That experience shaped not only his technical skill but his deep appreciation for the art of the cast.

Pat went on to guide on the Henry's Fork and has instructed at The School of Trout in Idaho since its founding in 2018. As a co-owner and instructor at CrossWaterCreek, he brings that wealth of experience to anglers looking to refine their technique and elevate their casting.
